Exercise

Keeping your greyhound in shape is always a good thing . I like to take my greyhound to a open field where there are no cars around and let her run freely with my other dog who is not a grey but a pit boxer mix, and they get along just great. In the summer time swimming is another way of exercise for you greyhound if they are not afraid of water.

having a greyhound

Greyhounds are very athletic and as I have come to learn they can also be very lazy. When bringing home a greyhound you should make he or she feel as comfortable as possible being in a new enviorment as you would any other dog. The majority of the time they sleep....alot. Half of the time you dont even know that they are there. The greyhounds that I have come across have the funniest personalities. I work in a racing greyhound kennel and they are the most amazing breed I have seen. They are very friendly and they are wonderful around kids.

Things to know about greyhounds:
1. Having a fenced in yard.
It would probably be best to have a fenced in yard because greyhounds love to run around when they are not on a leash and if you yard is not fenced in be careful because a greyhound can run up to 45mph.
2. Plenty of excersise
It is good to play and let your greyhound run around to keep in shape. you can also buy a squaker which makes a noise that sounds like a sqeeking duck.lol
3. Thin skin
In the winter time it would be good to put a dog blanket or a sweater on your greyhound because greyhounds have thin skin so they can get cold easier
